BATENCHUK, MIKE
1916 - 2008
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband father, grandfather, Mike Batenchuk at the age at 92 yrs. young on July 11, 2008 at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. He was predeceased by his parents, Nickola & Maria Batenchuk; four brothers & 1 sister. Mike is survived by wife Mary of 33 years; one son Christin (Maryann); 2 stepsons, Dane Clark (Lorna) and Guy Clark (Mary); seven grandchildren, brother Paul Chappi, sister Emily Cohen many nephews, nieces, & cousins. Mike was born in Vidir, Man. April 4, 1916. Mike came to B.C. in the 1940's, served in the army, logged in Boston Bar before buying his own equipment & starting his own business, he then started his own contracting company in the Fraser Valley. Mike continued working with his equipment until late 80's.
A memorial will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Aldergrove Legion, 26607 Fraser Highway, Aldergrove. Burial will follow at the Aberdeen Cemetery, 28417 Fraser Highway, Abbotsford B.C.
