Kraus, (Donna) Maureen (nee Huston) 1945-2009

With her family at her side, Maureen passed away in Abbotsford June 23, 2009 at the age of 63. She was a very kind and generous woman who was loved deeply by her family. Maureen is survived by her loving husband Eugene; her six children and their spouses, Launi (Steve), Kevin (Monika), Dwayne (Laura), Jason (Debbie), Alanna (Glen), Katherine (Sean); and her grandchildren, Wesley, Samantha, William, Nicholas, Kurtis, Nadia, Gerritt, Remy, Landon, Sydney, and other family and friends. She was predeceased by grandson Ian. Maureen was born in Vancouver Sept. 29, 1945. She spent her childhood on a farm in Alberta where she discovered her love for animals. She spent time in Sicamous, Red Deer, Kelowna and Vancouver. In 1975, the Kraus family moved to a farm in Bradner. In 1981, Maureen became very involved with the Matsqui Blades Speed Skating Club. She spent many hours volunteering at events through the involvement of her children. In earlier years, Maureen was a medical stenographer for the BC children's hospital. After raising 6 children she worked for many years at the Abbotsford Bingo Hall. A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held Monday June 29, 2009 at 11:30am at the Henderson's Funeral Home located at 34537 Marshall Rd, Abbotsford with a viewing beforehand at 10:30am. Internment will take place at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetary.
