March 24, 1951 - October 16, 2018
On Tuesday October 16, 2018 Maureen passed away with her sons by her side at the age of 68 years.
Maureen was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Peter and Gudridur "Goody" Dyck and was an only child. She wrote in a memoir "A vivid memory is that of going white fishing with my father. It was very exciting for me as a young girl, heading out in the middle of the night to wade around in the creek shining a flashlight at the fish and scooping them up with a net."
Maureen eventually moved to British Columbia where she juggled motherhood and her career as an accountant. She was a long time employee at SHARE Society and whenever possible, enjoyed spending time with family and sunny days near the water.
Maureen is survived by her sons Chris (Sabina), Ben (Nicole) and her grandson Carson.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital Cancer Centre for all their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. They would also like to thank the support they've received from family, friends and her co-workers during the last 15 months.
Maureen has requested that no service be held.
