LIPSEY Marion (nee Passenger) 1919 ~ 2011. With deep sadness we announce the passing of a dear and precious soul. Marion (Josephine) Lipsey passed away peacefully at the Cottage Hospital in Abbotsford on September 22, 2011, with daughter Judy at her side. She will be forever missed by her loving children, Judy Dunning, Linda (Tom) Ramirez, Robert Lipsey and Connie (Brian) Blacklock; grandchildren, Kerry, Kim, Chris, Pat, Brad, and Aimee; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grand children; her sisters Pearl, and Tressa; and all her many relatives. Her thoughtful tender heart and wonderful sense of humour won her many friends who will also remember her with great affection. She is predeceased by her loving husband and life's partner of over 70 years, Winston (Winse); her parents, Frank and Mary Passenger; and her brother Alvin. She and Winse moved to the Mt. Lehman area from Saskatchewan in 1953, and became a well known and liked part of the community. After a couple years in Penticton, they returned to Abbotsford where mom always felt most at home. Mom was usually a stay at home wife and mother, one of the hardest, yet for her the most rewarding career choices she could have ever made. She cooked, cleaned, put on bandages, guided us, laughed, and wept with us. She was humble and forgiving and taught us our bedtime prayers. Mom enjoyed music and dancing, curling, both as a participant and spectator, she loved watching the Canucks games, and she liked reading, knitting, preparing meals and baking. She was generous and hospitable. Her pies and cookies were always the best. She loved all her family and found great joy in her many grandchildren. We are proud of the way you lived your life Mom, thru both the joys and the heartaches, and we will miss you forever but you left at peace, with yourself, and with God, and we will be forever grateful to you mom for all your love. The family would like to thank Dr. B. Randhawa for his patient, gentle, and loving care over the years, Susan Frizzo, Dr. Chafe, and the team at the Cottage Pavilion for doing their best to comfort and care for mom for the last 10 months of her life. There are angels among us and many watched over our mother. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 1:00pm to 1:55 pm at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. Interment at Aberdeen Cemetery in Abbotsford will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canuck Place Children's Hospice would be appreciated.
