Marion Hazel Borodula (nee Penny)
August 7, 1923 ~ September 2, 2016
It is with deep sadness that the family of Marion Borodula announces the passing of a wonderful Mother, Grandma, and G.G. She was predeased by her husband, Alex, in 2007, and son-in-law, Mario Manfredi, in 2012. She leaves behind her two daughters, Lorane (Darrell) MacKay of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Penny Manfredi of Parksville, British Columbia; her grandchildren Nicole (Tim) Hildebrand, Julie (Darin) Mercer, Christine (Dale) Robertson, and Darren (Kandis) MacKay; and her beloved greatgrandchildren Alexis and Mya Mercer, Olivia, Paisley and Quinn Hildebrand, and Maeve and Miller MacKay who always made her eyes light up, and she said their hugs “were the best ones ever”. Marion was born in Vancouver where she met and married Alex in 1943. Later that year Alex joined the BC Police then the RCMP which led the couple and later their two daughters to many new places throughout BC. Marion was a proud 50+ year member of the Eastern Star, joining each chapter depending on their placement. They spent many years in West Vancouver, retired to Abbotsford, and then she relocated to Parksville in 2008. No service as per Marion’s request.
