Marilyn was born in White Horse, Yukon, and died in Abbotsford, BC, from a fast growing tumor on her pancreas. She and Don were married for 46 years, and are the parents of Luke and Crystal and the grandparents of seven young grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by her mother Lydia Kliewer, sister Marcy, and brothers Loren and Philip.
Marilyn served as an international worker with the Christian and Missionary Alliance for fifteen years in three Latin American countries. After returning to Canada, she earned certification as a clinical counselor and served clients from her home office in Abbotsford.
Marilyn gave her heart to care for others, in particular those who have engaged in cross-cultural work. Thus, in place of flowers, we encourage you to donate in her honor to the MORE Network. https://outreach.ca/Donate/Marilyn-Ibsen-Memorial. Donation cards will also be available at the celebration of Marilyn's life which will be held Sunday afternoon, February 9 at 2:30 pm, Aldergrove Alliance Church, 26291 28 Ave., Langley.
