Maria (Mary) Stobbe passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on February 2, 2016. Mary was born on June 28, 1921 in Kherson, Russia. She was predeceased by her husband, George Stobbe, her son, Gerald, her parents, Heinrich and Maria Epp, her brothers, Herman, Henry, Ben, Pete and Jake. She is survived by her 6 children: Darlene Henderson, Marilyn (Bill) Boonstra, Ken (Joan), Ruth (Roy) Loewen, Lori (Matt) Neigh, and Al (Karen) as well as 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Elizabeth Lepp, Frank (Ann) Epp, Ann (Al) Penner, Helen Nickel, sisters-in-law Margaret Epp and Olga Epp and many nieces and nephews. Mary will be remembered for her gentle and kind spirit, her love and support of family and friends, her warm hugs, her great cooking/baking skills, her love for Jesus and her passion for prayer. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at South Abbotsford Church, including a viewing between 10:00 and 10:30 and the service at 12:00 noon. The Interment will be at 11:00 at South Poplar Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Menno Hospital staff for their loving care of Mary over these past several years.
