Mrs. Maria Felizia Ollenberger passed away in Olds, Alberta on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Maria was born in Semons, Saskatchewan on September 19, 1922. She had five brothers and one sister. In 1935, the family moved to Goodsoil, Saskatchewan where they farmed. It was there that Maria met Joseph Ollenberger and in 1943, they were married in St. Bonafice Church. In 1957, Maria, Joe and the four children moved to Dawson Creek, British Columbia where she worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company. In 1967, Marie moved to Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and was employed by Canada Safeway. After retiring, Maria moved to Abbotsford, British Columbia where she lived until her recent move to Alberta in April of 2007. Maria will be lovingly remembered by her son Kenneth (Claire) Ollenberger of Grand Forks, British Columbia; daughter Carol (Ray) Liversuch of Carstairs, Alberta; sister Eileen Hale of Edmonton, Alberta; brother Max (Kay) Baer of Edmonton, Alberta; and two brother-in-laws Anton (Clara) Ollenberger of Cranbrook, British Columbia and Reg (Dolores) Scarfe of Slave Lake, Alberta. Also left to cherish Maria’s memory are 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her husband, Joseph (1972); her daughter, Linda Goodwin (1993); her son Wayne Ollenberger (2007) and brothers Ray, Art, Nick and Tom Baer.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd. Abbotsford, BC followed by interment at Hazelwood Cemetery.
