October 10, 1928 - July 16, 2024

In loving memory ~

Marguerite Ellen May Stobbart (nee Fleming) fondly known as "Peggy", passed away peacefully on July 16th, 2024 with family by her side. She leaves behind: Daughter Diane, grandchild Leah (Bruce) and great grandchild Piper. Son Rick (Di), grandchildren Ken (Joanne), and Randy. Great grandchildren Chrissy, Kelsey, Daniel (Tasha) and two great, great grandchildren. Marguerite was predeceased by Ron, her devoted husband of 73 years and her loving Grandson Glenn.

She was born in Semans, Saskatchewan, on October 10, 1928. Being the second oldest of 8 children, she was kept busy raising the little ones. During this time, she won several awards for her poetry and was recognized as top singer in the Church Choir. In 1939 her Dad went to war, and like most, the family struggled on alone. Years later, they moved to Cloverdale and finally settled in Deroche, where Marguerite met and married Ron in 1945. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also an excellent homemaker, cooking, cleaning, sewing, picking berries, etc. to earn extra money. Being a devout member of the Deroche Anglican Church, she was always helping those in need. In her spare time, she continued writing poetry, researching family history, and solving crossword puzzles. But, her greatest love was camping with her husband, family and dogs on any riverbank or wilderness site they could find.

She spent her final two years in Tabor Home, whom we thank for the great care they helped us give Mom. She will be missed and loved always.

A memorial gathering is to be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 33077-2nd Ave., Mission, B.C., on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at 1:00 PM. (In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or Legion would be appreciated)
