REMPEL Margaret (nee Voth). May 1, 1923 ~ July 3, 2011. Margaret went to be with Jesus on Sunday July 3, 2011 at the Menno Home, Abbotsford, BC. She was born on May 1, 1923 in Kalantarafka, South Russia to Herman and Maria Voth. She came to Canada with her family as a 7 month old and lived in southern Manitoba during her growing up years. In the early 1940’s the family moved to British Columbia, settling in Chilliwack. She married Cornelius J. Rempel on March 10, 1946 and they worked side by side in construction, then farming and in a retail fabric store called Mar-Elle Boutique. She is predeceased by her parents, all her siblings and her husband CJ. She is lovingly remembered by her 3 daughters, Marilyn (Rudy Hiebert), Darlene (Dave Neufeld) and Jennifer (Dean Martin), her 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and two sisters-in-laws. Many people will miss her ready smile and cheerful countenance. She had a gentle spirit that was a result of her relying wholly on her Lord and Saviour and was always an encourager to others. There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 8th at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery at 10:30 am followed by a memorial service at Central Heights Church at 1:30 pm on Friday, July 8th.
