PENNER, Margaret
It is with sadness that we announce that Margaret Penner went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2011 at the age of 88. Born on January 29, 1922 in the Ukraine to David and Gertrude Janz, she endured much hardship as a child before immigrating to Canada in 1948. She settled first in Vancouver and later moved to Abbotsford. She worked hard, lived her life with joy, helped others less fortunate, gave generously to those in need, and trusted the Lord in every circumstance. She was a great hostess and loved to be surrounded by others. Margaret is survived by her sister, Katie Quiring, her nieces and nephews, Bernard Hildebrandt's family, Peter Penner's family and many cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifeBridge Recovery Ministry. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 11 from 7 - 8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:30 am at King Road Mennonite Brethren Church, 32068 King Road, Abbotsford.
