December 9, 1930 – June 21, 2020
Margaret passed away in her sleep at the age of 89. She was predeceased by husband Allan, daughter Shelagh Holmes, parents Greta and Patrick Pyne and brothers Paddy, Cornelius, and Dermot.
She is survived by her sons: Michael (Phyllis) of Abbotsford, and Patrick of Calgary; grandchildren: Jordanna (Jean) Clermont, Sean (Julie) Horner, Stephanie (Dean) Reddicopp, Danny (Brittany) Horner, Shelagh’s son Douglas Kalles, and 9 great grandchildren.
Marg was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she also married her husband of 65 years, Al Horner in 1950. They started their own business with the opening of Horner Shoes in Kelowna in 1976, which they operated until their retirement. Upon Al’s passing in 2015, Marg moved to Abbotsford to be closer to Michael and his family. Special thanks to Tabor Home for their loving care.
It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our wonderful mother. She was a kind and loving person—a social butterfly. We believe that she is with Jesus now, recently affirming her belief in Him as her Saviour, trusting that He paid for her sins on the cross! And so, it really is “see you soon, Mom”.
A service and Celebration of Life are to be held at a later date. Contact email@example.com for more info.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to Advokate Life & Education Services https://advokate.ca/en/donate AND/OR Tabor Home Society Capital Campaign https://www.campaign.taborvillage.org
