March 7, 1932 - April 20, 2025

Margaret Krause (nee Rempel) was born in Paraguay in the Mennonite colony of Fernheim. She was the fourth surviving child of Jakob and Helena (nee Vogt) Rempel. Margaret's father died when she was thirteen years old.

Margaret moved with her brother Henry and her mother to Oliver, British Columbia in 1948. In 1951, Margaret moved to Vancouver where she met Dietrich Krause on her first day in the city. They married on September 14, 1952 and enjoyed sixty-eight years together. Much of Margaret's life revolved around her family, first raising 7 children and then enjoying years of travel with Dietrich. They bought a family vacation property in Oroville and spent much time there every summer, along with their children, grandchildren, and eventually great grandchildren.

Margaret and Dietrich were active members of Sherbrooke Mennonite Church in Vancouver until 2019 when they moved to Primrose Garden in Abbotsford.

Margaret passed away on Easter Sunday. We will miss our loving, patient and kind mother, but also rejoice that she has gone to be with the Lord after a long, well-lived life.

Margaret is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Erich (Gerda), Elsie Toews (David), Laurie Toews (Willie), Victor (Yvette), Walter (Shauna), Anita Wiebe (Tom) and Steven (Kristine) as well as 18 grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and her brother Henry. She was predeceased by her husband Dietrich.
