Margaret J.J. passed away peacefully at Menno Home in Abbotsford, BC on Monday, April 16, 2007. She was 85 years of age. Predeceased by her brothers Benny and Wally Maas, Margaret is survived by Carl, her loving husband of 58 years. She leaves also, her children Karen Hacket, John Pedersen, Donna Wills, Shirley Cole and Carol Friesen; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, nieces, Ânephews and dear friends. Born in Bifrost, Manitoba, Margaret grew up helping in her family's fishing business. She could fillet a fish better and faster than most. She married Carl in 1948. They travelÂled extensively together, visiting most of Canada and the US. A devoted mother and grandÂmother, Margaret enjoyed her family, her gardening and her knitting. It is said she could knit very well right- or left-handed.
At Margaret's request, no Âformal service will be held, but for those desiring, donations made in her memory to the BC & Yukon Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be most appreciated.
