Mrs. Margaret Rose Esau (nee Ewert and Marg Stobbe) of Chilliwack, formerly of Abbotsford, BC, died after a short battle with cancer, July 14, 2013, age 73. Born July 30, 1939, in Sardis, BC, to Peter J. Ewert and Anna Heinrichs, she grew up on South Sumas Road on a dairy and chicken farm. After she moved to Vancouver at age 17, Margaret worked in the credit department at the Eaton’s store. There, she met and married first husband Herbert Stobbe, October 4, 1958. The couple settled in Matsqui then Abbotsford. Her career in finance did not continue as she raised four sons: Brian, Gregory, Douglas and Barry (Buzz). Brian died in his third year; Greg lives in Clovis, CA, with wife Geena (Bruno) and daughters Brianna Phillips (married to Stanley Phillips) of Clovis, Brittany, & Brooke; Doug in Houston, TX, with wife Julie (Greer) and children Connor & Katherine; Buzz in Abbotsford, B.C. with wife Trish (DiGiacinto) and children Alanna & Colby. After her divorce from Herb in 1998, Margaret wed Harold Esau of Swalwell, AB, on July 23, 2005. The two settled and resided together in Chilliwack, B.C. Harold and Margaret lived in the Promontory Lake Estates

in Sardis (Chilliwack). She loved her fl ower garden and potted plants, especially dahlias. She especially loved the holiday seasons. Christmas was her favourite and her home decorations showed her passion. She loved to read and cook. Her Bible was her foundation for living and Handel’s Messiah, both in concert and CD, was her

music of choice. Margaret loved the outdoors her entire life. She enjoyed

touring, cruising, cross-country skiing, hiking, cycling, RVing and camping. In recent years, she served in the culinary art program at Abbotsford’s Salvation Army church and spent years selling Avon and attending the theatre. Margaret is preceded in death by her father Peter J. Ewert

(1983) and mother Anna Heinrichs (1959), sister Mary Fedrau (1981) and her son Bryan (born June 24, 1960, died Dec. 19, 1962). Margaret is survived by her three sons and daughter-in-laws,

seven grandchildren, her husband Harold, and his four children, 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild and her ex-husband, Herb Stobbe. Funeral services will be held on July 24, 2013, at the Salvation Army Cascade Community Church (35190 Delair Road, Abbotsford) with Margaret’s pastor, Major Peter Roed
