February 12, 1947 - October 16, 2019
After struggling with early onset Alzheimer's for years Margaret, surrounded by her family, went peacefully to be with her Lord. Margaret was born in Vancouver and lived her life in Tsawwassen and Abbotsford. Margaret is survived by her husband Rick of 52 years, her children; Rick (Lillian), Mike, Matt and Kirk, her grandchildren; Brianna (David), Spencer (Melissa), Marcus and Andrew as well as her great grandchildren; Raya May and Rueben, who will hear the stories of her life, also by her brother Bill and his family. She will be fondly remembered by her many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Margaret was a devoted mother and wife who stayed home with her three boys. She loved all her family and enjoyed hosting people in her lovely home. Margaret was a beautiful lady with a gracious heart who touched many lives through her volunteer and church work. She was the chair of Christian Woman's Club, sang in choirs, involved with BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and the Big Sister's Organization. Closest to her heart was the Cebu Children's Shelter where she visited and helped raise funds and became a mom to another boy. She enjoyed holidays and travelling abroad with her husband and friends, going to concerts and making memories. We thank the nurses and staff of Mayfair Home in Abbotsford and Evergreen Home in Powell River where she was kindly cared for in her last four years.
A Memorial will be held at the South Abbotsford MB Church on November 4, 2019 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers and expressions of sympathy donations can be made to Cebu Children's Shelter Society of Canada www.cebushelter.org
