It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Mae Doreen Petersen at her home in Abbotsford on the morning of March 10th surrounded by her family.
Mom was born in Prince Rupert and lived to the wonderful age of 99. She was predeceased by Dad in 2008 and by our sister Ann in 2007 as well as many other loved family members.
Mom leaves behind a legacy of a loving family and friends. She is remembered by her sons Tony (Marlene) and Stan (Doreen), daughter-in-law Penny (Ron), sister-in-law Shirley, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Our family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Moodley and all the home care workers who were so wonderful to Mom in their care for her. A very special thanks to our angel nurse, Shenie, for her dedicated care and to Lori for whom no words can express our love and gratitude.
It was Mom's wish that there be no service. A celebration of her life will be held at a time when we can all get together. Until then, and with the beauty of spring coming, plant a flower in her honour!
