HUGHES, Louise Collington

Passed away suddenly on 17 August 2007. Born 5 May 1918 in Brandon, Manitoba. Daughter of Sydney Collington Berridge and Lilly May Meadows.

Predeceased by her husband of 58 years Gwilym Owen "Bud" Hughes in April 2007. Survived by sons Syd and Owen, daughter-in-law Lynda, sister Bernice Lacerte, Aunt Edith Kufflick, nieces Louise, Marie, Paulette, Kathleen and Susan, 14 great nieces and nephews and 22 great-great nieces and nephews. Educated at St Michael's Academy, Brandon; Pittman's School of Business, Winnipeg; the Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, Winnipeg and the University of British Columbia. Enlisted 1942 in the Royal Canadian Medical Corp and served at Shilo, Manitoba; Leavesden Military Hospital, Watford, England; and #20 Canadian General Hospital in Belgium and Holland. Presidencies and Life Memberships Mission Hospital Auxiliary, Mission Memorial Hospital Society, Mission Stroke Club, Mission Figure Skating Club, British Columbia Health Association, Canadian Hospital Association, Decorated by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1977 for service to the nation in health care. The family would appreciate donations to Mission Health Care Auxiliary, c/o Mission Memorial Hospital, or the Mission Stroke Recovery Club, c/o 7522 Murray Street, Mission, BC, V2V 4B1. Funeral service on Tuesday, August 26 at 2;00 pm, All Saints Anglican Church, 33077 2nd Ave., Mission.
