Lorraine Turner was born June 21, 1919, in Dewdney, BC, to pioneer

family Alvinia and John Blackwood McKamey. She passed away at Devonshire Care Home in Edmonton, AB, on July 19, 2008, at the age of 89 years.

Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by daughters Alvina Cull and Donna

Spanier, grandchildren Tyler Cull and John, Shawn, and Angela Spanier,

as well as three great grandchildren. Also missing her unconditional love, caring ways, and wit are numerous McKamey, Turner, and Roy extended family members and many friends.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Mildred and baby

Irene, and eight brothers Granville, Roland, Jack, Fred, Raphael, Melvin, Norman and Goldie. She also mourned the loss of beloved husband George Turner (Gordie), son Bryan Roy, grandson Corey Cull, and son-in-law Val Spanier. Lorraine was a life member of Ladies of the Royal Purple, bowled senior bowling twice a week until she was eighty, and loved dancing whenever she got the chance.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life, August 4, 2008, at 1 pm at 109 Senior Citizens Centre, 170-5th Ave. S.E., Salmon Arm, BC. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, 938 West 28th Ave, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 4H4, or Gizeh Shriners of BC and Yukon, 3550 Wyburne Dr., Burnaby, BC, V5G 3K9.
