BURFOOT (nee Smith) Loreen Irene May
June 27, 1934 ~ December 22, 2012. Passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus following a lengthy battle with cancer. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Dennis in 2008, mother to Kathie (Darrell) Krahn, Ron (Carol) and Rick (Arlene), 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sisters and 9 brothers. Loreen was born in Marchwell, Saskatchewan and raised on a farm in Lake Francis, Manitoba. She married Dennis in 1952, farmed for 25 years in Reaburn, Manitoba till they moved to Mission in 1977. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker with Fraser Valley Homemaker Service and volunteered at MCC Mission Thrift Store following retirement. Loreen was devoted to her family and following Christ was the central focus in her life. She loved competing in many games and entertaining friends and family with fellowship and lots of food. A memorial service will be held at Cedar valley Mennonite Church, Mission, B.C. at 1:30 pm Saturday, December 29, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MCC.
