February 23, 1962 - February 6, 2021
With heavy hearts we say good-bye to our daughter, sister, Mom, Grandma and friend.
Lisa Barnum was born in Abbotsford on February 23, 1962. Growing up in the Peardonville community of Abbotsford, she attended Peardonville Elementary School then Clearbrook Junior and Abbotsford Senior High Schools.
Lisa treasured the freedom and quiet spaces of growing up in a small community and when fate took her to Halfmoon Bay in 2000, she stayed to put roots down there because, as she said, it reminded her of growing up in Peardonville and the scenery was even prettier. It became the home of her heart, and there she remained for the rest of her life.
In her leisure time Lisa enjoyed many different pursuits including ballroom dance, baking, photography and new technology, but her first and always passion was reading. Books were friends, and she was never alone as long as she had a book to disappear into for a while.
Predeceased by her Dad Jim Barnum, Lisa is survived by her mom, Grace Barnum, sister Sandy (Clive) Nash, brother Clint (Sheryl) Barnum, son Ryan (Amanda) Herman, daughters Sonya (Trevor) Coffin and Nikki Coffin, and grandchildren; Cadie, Payton, Alex, Sawyer and Damon, as well as long-time friend Wayne Bowie.
Though she is gone from our world, she will live on in our hearts forever.
"The song is ended, but the melody lingers on." Irving Berlin
