March 31, 1927 - January 16, 2022
Lillian Mary Fullen (nee Gauthier) passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022, at Bevan Lodge, Abbotsford, B.C. She was born on March 31, 1927, at North Bay, Ontario and was the loved daughter of the late Louis & Blanche Gauthier.
Lillian graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Ontario. This would be followed by years of loving service to many patients as a Registered Nurse in B.C. She was married to Neil Fullen on April 28, 1957. They eventually chose to make their home in Yarrow where she resided for many years, following Neil's death on December 16, 1975. Even after leaving Yarrow, she would regularly return to see her beloved friends and neighbours.
Lillian participated in various community events and made many lifelong friends, including Jack Bryant, whom she cared for until his death on September 19, 2007. Retirement life would take her to Abbotsford where she enjoyed time with friends, some traveling and her two favorite activities, swimming and walking around Mill Lake.
Lillian would move into the Menno Home in 2019 and then into Bevan Lodge in 2020. We would like to thank the staff at both these Care Homes for the love and care shown to Lil through the last years of her life.
No service by request. Arrangements by Society's First Alternative Services.
Predeceased by Neil Fullen, Jack Bryant, her parents, Louis & Blanche Gauthier, brothers, Arthur Gauthier, Gene Gauthier, Roland Gauthier, and sister, Teresa Ferari. Lillian is survived by her sister, Joan Haley and several nephews and nieces, and many friends.
Lil, we will miss you very much. We will remember your remarkable independency, your passion for those less fortunate, your love for life and your generosity to causes that were dear to you. We were blessed to have you in our lives.
Gone, but never forgotten. You will always remain in our hearts.
