LEO JOSEPH COOMBS

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Leo Coombs of Winnipeg, Manitoba (born in Ochre River, MB - formerly of Abbotsford & Chilliwack, B.C.). While on a bus tour of the four Maritime Provinces to celebrate his 75th Birthday with his wife, Rosemarie, he suffered a heart attack, underwent surgery and eight weeks later passed into the presence of the Lord, November 18, 2006 at 7:18 p.m. Newfoundland time.

He will be remembered by his loving wife, Rosemarie, daughters - Gisele Coombs, Shirley (Ron) Fox, stepdaughter Marcy (Tony) Roadhouse and grandchildren - Ryan; Justin & Cody; Tony, Tara & Taylor.  He also leaves behind two sisters - Lorraine Alexander (Chilliwack, B.C.) and Jean (Bill) Rosenkranz (Ste. Rose du Lac, MB). Leo leaves behind nieces and nephews, many cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends.

Leo was predeceased by Gisele and Shirley’s mother, Jeannine and Marcy’s mother, Joyce as well as his parents Robert & Cecile; and brother-in-law Peter (Tiny) Alexander of Chilliwack, B.C.

Leo worked approximately eight (8) years full-time as a furniture mover then 25 years full-time as a moving consultant worldwide for North American Van Lines. He enjoyed most sports and excelled specifically in bowling and baseball.

Family, relatives and friends were very important to Leo. He had a loving, humble, generous, gentle and caring heart. He will be forever remembered for driving his four angels (his wife, Rosemarie & her 3 sisters) wherever they

needed to go.

Viewing, prayers, words by individuals who wish to commemorate Leo's life will be held at 2:30-4:00 pm Thursday, Nov 23 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Funeral Mass at 2 pm Friday, Nov. 24, Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg, reception to follow at Canad Inn, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg. Cremation on Saturday, Nov. 25.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
