JANSEN, Len C.
Len Jansen passed away January 13, 2010 at the age of 79. Len was a dairy farmer through and through. Hew was born in Glen Valley, B.C. on May 10, 1930. He and his family moved to Sumas Prairie and then to Bates Rd. in Matsqui in 1940. Len lived there for 69 years. On March 12, 1982 he married Jackie Conway. As well as loving farming, he spent many hours in the bush clearing land with his bulldozer. Len is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Jackie) Jansen, children; Cathy Lissimore, Stanley Jansen (Lorna), Bonnie (Stephen) Higgs, Gail (Dick) Smallenberg, Lance (Diane) Conway, Lee (Carol) Conway, as well as 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren & many other relatives & friends. His joy was to have his grandchildren come and visit and the coffeepot was always on for his brothers and his friends. Len was on the dyking board and volunteered at Matsqui Community Hall. He looked forward to curling on the farmers league, going to lunch with the guys and playing cards games with his friends. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford, with Erica Thiessen officiating. Interment will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery. If anyone so wishes donations may be made to the Salvation Army in Len's name.
