LAWRENCE ASHTON

November 17, 2003

Lawrence Lloyd Ashton passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on November 17, 2003 in the MSA Hospital at the age of 86 years.

Lawrence was born near Strasbourg, Sask., moved to Saskatoon and later to the Meadow Lake area of Saskatchewan. In 1941 he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and was stationed at Camp Borden, Ont., until his discharge in 1945. After which he trained and worked as a journeyman carpenter for the T. Eaton Co. in Toronto. Later in Saskatchewan he learned the refrigeration and air-conditioning trade and formed his own company.

Married in Toronto in 1942, he and Jean lived in Saskatchewan from 1948 - 1988 retiring to Abbotsford, B.C.

Predeceased by his parents, Duncan and Mary Ashton, brother Clayton (Chris), sisters Viola (Herb) Ford and Marnie (Cliff) Cross.

He wil be lovingly be remembered by Jean, his wife of 60 years, son Kendall (Donna) of Grand Forks, B.C., grandson Shane; daughter Audrey (Dennis)La Claire of Sorento, B.C., granddaughter Jennifer (Tony) Boschmann, great-grandsons Lukas and Jakob of Richmond, B.C., Cherilyn(Bill) Mitchell of Vernon, B.C., Shelley La Claire of Abbotsford, B.C., Lori (Chris) Flater of Chilliwack, B.C., sister Dorothy (Ted) Pickard of Saskatoon, Sask., sister-in-law Anne (Lloyd) Cross of Brantford, Ont., as well as many nephews and nieces.

Memorial service on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Abbotsford Baptist Church, 33651 Busby Street, Abbotsford. If so desired a donation to the Abbotsford Baptist Church appreciated.
