Lawrence "Larry" Earl Alexander 70, of Abbotsford, BC, passed away, Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at Christine Morrison Hospice after a lengthy 9½ year battle with cancer. Larry was born May 9, 1943 in Smokey Lake, Alberta to George and Dilly (Stogrin) Alexander. On July 4th, 1970 he married the former Louise Stone in Mission. Larry was employed as an accountant for the federal penitentiary system at both the Abbotsford and Mission locations until his retirement in 1996. An avid sports fan, he spent many hours coaching, officiating and support local community sports including, soccer, baseball, rugby and hockey. In addition to this he also enjoyed walking, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years Louise, his three sons: Rob (Mirela) Alexander, Scott (Cara) Alexander and Bryon (Lisa) Alexander, daughter Laurie Ball, his grandchildren: Michael (Theresia), Shelby, Payton, Ryan, Kyle, Tyne and Bryn and his great-grandchildren Keylan, Jaime, Alyssa and Nikkita. He was preceded in death by his parents, George (2005) and Dillie (2002) and his brother Danny Alexander (2007). A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 14th at Seven Oaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford.
