Lajos 'Louie' Salamon

Louie passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, at the age of 83, from heart failure at Mission Memorial Hospital with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.
Louie was born in Keszthely, Hungary. He survived rickets and being shot at by an airplane in WWII. He came to Canada as a refugee after the Hungarian Revolution in 1957.
Louie married Betty Groening in 1964 and they had 2 children, Louise and Jim.
He was predeceased by his brother, Jozsef, his wife, Betty, and son Jim. Louie is survived by his daughter, Louise Tait (Bill), the Salamon-Korsos family, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren either thru marriage, Debra (Chance), Lori, Matt (Kim), Dan (Jane) or by heart, including an extended international family who lived in the Tait household. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will take place on Nov. 23 at 1pm at Northview Community Church.
