Katie (who was born in the State of Oklahoma), passed away into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2019 after a courageous battle with various health issues and a double lung transplant in late August 2018. Katie will be greatly missed by her loving husband and partner for 44 ¾ years Charles (Chuck), daughter Amber (Steve) Sharp, Chad and Paige, son Dwayne (Alison) and Shelby, sister Trycle Steenbergen, brother Charles (LaRae) Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, friends and extended family. Katie worked as a baker/dietary cook for many years. A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Abbotsford Baptist Church, 33651 Busby Road, Abbotsford, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 pm at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Abbotsford Baptist Church or the Vancouver General Hospital Diamond Lung Centre.
