Katie was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2017, and is survived by her children Lilian, Wanda, Herbert (Liane Davison), Laura (Andrew Robertson), and Kenneth (Tracy Turnbull), 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Katie immigrated from Russia in 1926. In 1945 Katie married Peter Klassen in Rosemary, AB. They moved to Richmond in 1961, and Tsawwassen in 1968 where Katie actively participated in the community. In retirement in 1986 they enjoyed gardening an acreage in Mt. Lehman. Adventures took them visiting family in Australia, road trips, and boating trips. They moved to Menno Place in 2014.
