Ross – Kathleen (Kit) May (nee Carson) died peacefully in hospital with family at her side on July 31 at the age of 95. Born on March 1 1914, Kathleen emigrated to Canada from England with her parents in 1932, settling in Aldergrove in 1934. Predeceased by her husband Burton Leroy in 1983, Kathleen is survived by her daughter Pamela Judith (Robert) Quiring, grandchildren Tami (Scott) and Allan (Nancy), great-granchildren Amy, Michael, Cary and Lucas as well as numerous cousins in England.
Kathleen was an active member of the Thoroughbred Ladies Club for many years, and she always enjoyed the races long after the family ceased to own thoroughbreds. There will be no service at her request, but she will at long last join Burton in peace at Aberdeen Cemetery following cremation. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of her love for the Vancouver Canucks, the family requests that donations be made in Kathleen’s name to Canuck Place Pediatric Hospice Palliative Care. An afternoon tea to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held at Pam and Robert’s house, 26688 16 Avenue, Aldergrove on Sunday 30 August 2009 from 1pm until 4 pm.
