Katy (nee Wieler) passed away peacefully at Abbotsford Hospital on January 8th. She will be greatly missed by her children John (Joan), Len (Monica), Rick (Brenda), 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jake and three sisters.
Katy was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada in 1948. She married Jake in 1954 and they settled in Vancouver and raised three sons. Jake died in 1985 and Katy sorely missed him.
She found great comfort in loving and spending time with her grandchildren and was a large part of their lives. She lived a life of volunteering in a variety of places including with MCC Thrift for over 37 years. She also found time for creating numerous quilts, sweaters, blankets and baby sets and time for travelling with friends.
She moved to Abbotsford in 2004.
