JACOBSEN - Jytte Jacobsen (also known as Judy) passed away on September 23, 2011 at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission. She was predeceased by her parents, Thea and Svend Rasmussen and her sister Lizzi Scheving. She is survived by her husband Tage (also known as Ted) of Mission, sons Dennis (Jean) and Jan (Elaine) and grand- children Heather and Miranda, Julia and Michael, as well as brothers Herlef (Annie) Rasmussen, Benny Rasmussen, Bjarne (Elsa-Marie) Rasmussen and sister Gitta (Helge) Schmidt and many nieces and nephews, all in Denmark. Jytte was born in Frederiksberg, Denmark on November 20, 1930. She immigrated to Canada in 1954, traveling by ship to Halifax and across Canada by train to meet her fiancé Tage in Vancouver, where they married and started their new life together. In 1965, with their young sons, they moved to Mission. Jytte enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved gardening, needlework, sewing, classical music, reading and trips to Denmark. She belonged to a Sewing Club with her Danish friends and worked at Fields in Mission for many years.
A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday Sept. 25, 2011 at Cedarbrooke Chateau 32331 7th Ave, Mission. Donations in Jytte's memory may be made to the Cancer Society. Bakerview Crematorium & Funeral Services
