MUSA - June passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 22, 2010. Born on February 10, 1924. She is survived by her loving family, husband Marcel "Blackie", daughter Dawn Read, son David (Anjilla), 2 grandsons David and Nicholas and one sister Shirley (Tom) Yarbrough. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Lily Abrams. June worked for many years in Woodward's Guildford but what she really loved to do was to bake. She was known as the Queen of Shortbread, and was frequently asked for her recipe, which she never gave away. She got the most enjoyment entertaining family and friends, surrounded by their warmth and laughter. She will be remembered as a great mom with a quick laugh. There will be no funeral by her request, but a memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Christine Morrison Hospice for their care and kindness. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the S.P.C.A. in her memory.
