June Gibson (nee Scobie), passed away peacefully in Abbotsford, B.C. on August 26, 2003 at 79 years of age after a brief, but hard fought battle with cancer.
Born June 19, 1924 in Hardesty, Alberta, raised in Sutherland, Sask. She moved to Abbotsford in 1990.
June was predeceased by Lowell, her husband of 37 years, in 1980, sister May Heath of Alsask, Sask. in 1996, niece Mada LeGresley of Victoria, B.C. in 1988 and dear friend George Smith in 1990.
June is survived and lovingly remembered by brother Lloyd (Edythe), nephews, Murray (Deb), Kelly (Carolyne), Tom (Lis) of Regina and Bill (Madeline) of Cold Lake, Alberta, great-nieces and nephews Treena (Darren) of Victoria, Pam, Paula, Jeff,Jessie, Beckie, Jennifer, Laura and Karen all of Regina, Shane of Vancouver, Cory (Liz), great-great niece Amanda and great-great nephew Daniel, all of Victoria. Also survived and lovingly missed by dear friends Glen and Marty Hermanson, their daughter Corie of Abbotsford and son Steven (Nicole) of Saskatoon, Gary LeGresley of Campbell River, B.C. and Erma and Otto Janout of Abbotsford, along with many other dear friends and colleagues.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of her life and interment in Saskatoon at Saskatoon Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in June's memory can be made to United Way.
