de Hrussoczy Wirth, Judith (Judy)(19 April 1928 – 31 May 2014). With great sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Judy de Hrussoczy Wirth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. Judy was a long time resident of Abbotsford. She worked together with her husband Victor, in his accounting practice, managing the booking department. After several years hiatus in Kelowna, they returned to Abbotsford, when Judy’s illnesses manifested. Judy was born in Kaposvar, Hungary and fled to Austria, with her then fiancé Victor. They were married there in 1946 and their first child, Christopher was born there. They immigrated to Canada and started their lives in Abbotsford. About a year later, they moved to Lillooet, where they started Victor’s public accounting practice and their second child, Beatrix was born. They returned to Abbotsford in 1960. Judy was respected and admired by friends, clients, and members of her family. Her charm and modesty made her loved by everyone around her. She will be missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband, two children, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful care aides who attended Judy and facilitated she and Victor being able to stay together, in their own home, until the end. It would be remiss not to acknowledge the wonderfully compassionate staff at the hospital’s palliative care unit, who made Judy’s last days so much easier for us. A private family interment will be held on June 27th, 2014 and a Celebration of Life will be held later, for family and invited friends. Condolences may be directed to the family at juvi1946@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers we ask donations be made in memory of Judy to the Canadian Cancer Society.
