Joyce Margaret VALLANCE (nee Pym)

November 26, 2006

Joyce Margaret Vallance (nee Pym), born in London, England on July 13, 1919, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2006 at the Mission Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by her husband T.H. (Bob) in July of 1999, Mum handled her various illnesses valiantly and with dignity until the end. Her strength and courage will be remembered by all. Lovingly remembered by daughter Carole and her husband Bert, their daughter Miranda (Brent) and son Jeremy all of Ontario; and son Robert Ian with wife Sharon, and their daughter Becky, all of Mission. Mum and Dad came to Canada with their children in 1955 to give their family a better life. Dad was in the insurance industry in England and came to a job in Quebec, later Ontario and then BC starting 1965. Upon retirement, Mum and Dad moved from West Vancouver to Mission to be closer to their family. They enjoyed traveling together and cruising was their favourite.

The family wishes to thank all the many home caregivers who helped Mum the last 6 years. You were all angels. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mission Memorial Hospital for your care and guidance this last few months. Thank you to Dr. Turchen for your help in the past and most recently Dr. Nemanishen.

A Memorial Service will be held at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations to the Christine Morrison Hospice - 7324 Hurd Street, Mission, BC V2V 3H5 would be appreciated.
