It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Kathleen Harms of Abbotsford, B.C. announce her peaceful passing at MSA Hospital on Sunday, April 27, 2003 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Joyce was born July 30, 1924 in Montreal, Quebec and was raised in Vancouver, B.C.
Survived by Harold, her very loving and devoted husband of 57 years; her brother Fred Goodchild of Abbotsford; her oldest son Fred (Kathy) of Alberta, two daughters Joanne (Doug) of Kamloops and Kathy (Tom) of Coquitlam; her youngest son Greg (Sharee) of Victoria; grandchildren Michelle, David, Gordon, Shelley, Darryl, Dianna, Amanda and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Frances Goodchild (1937) and Fred H. Goodchild (1955).
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2003 at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford at 1:30 p.m. for those who wish, viewing will be available a half hour prior to service. Reverend Connie Thompson officiating.
A graveside burial will be held at Musselwhite Cemetery followed by a reception at Henderson's Funeral Home to celebrate Joyce's life. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Joyce's memory to Abbotsford Hospice Society.
Joyce lived and breathed for the happiness and well-being of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed, but survives forever in our hearts.
