Joseph William Bancroft passed quietly into the presence of His Lord, July 31, 2006 at the age of 89 years at Menno Home in Abbotsford.
Dad was a longtime employee of B.C. Hydro until his retirement. Dad served as the Boy Scout Commissioner of the MSA area, and as an officer with the Sea Cadets based at HMCS Aldergrove. The highlights of Dad's involvement with the Sea Cadets were trips to HMCS Quadra, to teach cadets the skill of sailing. Dad also enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josephine, their daughter Judith ( Barry ) MacKenzie, and son Joel ( Carol ) Bancroft. He will also be missed by his 3 grandchildren Brent, Shane, and Tyler.
A memorial celebration service for Dad will be held on Wednesday, August 9th, at 3:00 pm from Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford, BC.
