SPORRE; John Bernard

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of John Bernard Sporre, age 99, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Mission, BC. John is survived by his wife Ellen of 61 years, children; Sharon (Gary), Diane, Kevin (Ingrid), Greg (Susan), grandchildren; Lindsey, Steven, Leyna, Jaime, Bryan, Nicola, Sheena, Tamara, Kevin and Sandy, 8 great-grandchildren, and sisters; Kay Terepocki and Ingrid Pelchat. He is predeceased by his siblings Ellen, Carl and Gus. John spent many years working as a logger in the forests of BC after arriving here from Sweden as a young man at the age of 12. After retirement John loved being outdoors whether it was a nature walk or just a walk around the neighbourhood and he also loved to dig in the garden with his beloved cat Bella by his side. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of the Mission Hospital and of TRIM for the excellent care provided for John. A celebration of his life is being planned for this summer.
