PAUL
Hans (John) passed away peacefuully at Menno Hospital, Thursday, April 10th, 2008 at the age of 81. His beloved wife Gerda preceded him in December of 2006.
He is lovingly remembered by his family; sons Reinhard (Donna) and Martin (Arlene), grandchildren, Christina (Justin) Steven, Kathy and Oliver Paul, and great grandson Matthew.
John was born September 7, 1926 in Dortmund, Germany. He emigrated with his wife and son Reinhard in 1954. They settled in Vancouver and John worked as an electrician. John and Gerda founded the Vancouver Catholic Kolping Society, an organization which helps German Christian immigrants get established in their new homeland.
In 1964 the family moved to Coquitlam where son Martin was born. John worked for Dairyland until his retirement in 1983. John and Gerda retired to Abbotsford and stayed very involved with the Kolping Society. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford Thursday April 17th at 11 a.m.
