John (Jan) Boersma
November 29, 1922 - September 17, 2017
John was taken peacefully into the arms of Jesus at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
He is predeceased by his wife, Theresa and his daughter, Jo-Ann Bomhof (died from Scleroderma in 2015).
He is survived by his brother Terry (Betty-Lou) Boersma, his children Art (Liz) Boersma, Jack Boersma and son-in-law Gary Bomhof, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
John, as a volunteer, touched the lives of many of the residents and staff at the Menno Hospital as they became a second family for him. He was humble, compassionate, faithful and full of joy, even in suffering.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their wonderful, attentive care.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 3215 Trethewey Street, Abbotsford, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scleroderma Association of British Columbia.
