John (Jack) Sheldrick
February 4, 1935 - July 13, 2006
After a courageous and dignified struggle with cancer, Jack died peacefully at his home on Thursday morning. He will be lovingly missed by his family, wife Donna, son Shaun and wife Carolyn, daughter Erin and partner Melissa, his brother Alan and wife Jackie and grandchildren Jessie, Kaitlin and Lee. He will also be mourned by numerous other relatives and friends.
Jack was born in Toronto and moved to Abbotsford in 1941. He graduated from Phillip Sheffield in 1955 and worked for Hacker Press until 1964 when he opened Valley Stationery which later became Carson Stationery. He operated this office business until his retirement in 1994.
Jack was very involved in the community and over the years dedicated his time to the followÂing organizations. Kinsmen, Clearbrook Board of Trade (Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce), Clearbrook Kiwanis, Vintage Car Club, Holeinthewall, Probus, and recently the Seven Oaks Walkin Club.
A service and celebration of Jack's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18 at Henderson's Funeral Home. In lieu of Âflowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Calvin Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
