Mr. John Henry Flier late of Abbotsford, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 79 at The Oxford Senior Care Home in Abbotsford.
John, or Johnnie, as he was known by many friends and family, was born and raised here in the Sumas-Abbotsford area, and he was the oldest of two children. In 1959, he married Elizabeth Slootweg, and they raised their family on their Sumas Prairie farm.
John is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth, his parents, Albert and Lucy Flier, and his brother Harry (Bob) Flier.
He is survived by their children Lucy (Jim) Coers, Val (Corny) Woelders, and Shirley (Jonathan) Friesen, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
