ESAU, John, 1927 ~ 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Esau on July 28, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. John faithfully served his Lord and Saviour as a pastor at County Line, Prince George, Queensborough, Squamish, Keremeos, and Clearbrook MB Church. He was also a Director (including chief cook and bottle washer) at Grace Mission in Vancouver for 12 years, an assistant at Woodlawn Funeral Home as well as a leader of many Bible Study groups, Bible Camps, and Evangelism teams throughout BC.
John loved animals, especially horses and dogs, but most of all, he loved to tell people about Jesus. His friendly spirit, quick laughter and easy going ways endeared him to everyone he met.
John will be missed by Eva, his wife of 60 years, children Lorraine Thompson, Grace (Ken) Stickland, Ellie Pelletier, Len (Heather) Esau, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grand-children. Brothers and sisters, Henry (Betty) Esau, Helen (Peter) Hamm, Jake (Lilian) Esau, Nina (Peter) Penner, Kay (Lorne) McConnell, Abe (Martha) Esau, Mary (George) Baier, Dave (Anita) Esau. John is predeceased by parents Jacob and Anna Esau and brother, Martin Esau.
The family would like to thank Dr. Morrison and the staff at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Christine Morrison Hospice for all the care they gave to John. A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be held at the Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Road, on Saturday, August 1st at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideon Bible Society, P.O.
