John went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 30, 2017 at the age of 96. His family thank God for the precious gift of this special man.
John was predeceased by his devoted first wife Margaret on October 23, 1998, as well as his parents, three of his brothers and his three sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen of 11 years, his daughter Joanne (Jeff), his son Barry (Debi), four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. John is also survived by one brother, many nieces, nephews, friends, and his step-family.
John was born in Orenburg, Russia and at the age of five immigrated to Canada with his parents and three siblings, eventually settling in Weidenfeld, Manitoba. He met his first wife Margaret and the sweethearts married in 1947 and immediately moved to Clearbrook, BC where John worked as a carpenter until he retired. The couple had 51 happy years together before Margaret passed away in 1998. In 2006, John met and married Helen and the couple enjoyed 11 precious years together.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, December 7 at First Memorial Funeral Home, 27555 - 31 Ave., Aldergrove, at 7:00 pm.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the New Testament Baptist Church, 5525 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, with Pastor Eugene Epp officiating.
