BEAUBIER; John Dean


Of West Vancouver, BC, died February 14, 2016, with his son Robert and beloved grand-dog Pippin at his side following a steady decline in health. Born October 18, 1928 in Brandon, Manitoba, the only child to Jack and Verlie (Smith). Dean’s maternal and paternal forebears were two of the original families to settle in Brandon in 1881, and Dean was the fourth generation of the Beaubier family to live in Brandon. Dean graduated Luther College, Regina (1947), Capt., Canadian Intelligence Corps, Ret. (Res.1946-51), earned BA (1951 University of British Columbia), studied history at University of Munich (1952) and earned LLB (1956 UBC) with fond memories of his Psi Upsilon fraternity. Dean practised law in Vancouver then Abbotsford, BC where together with wife Jacqueline (Leslie) of Saskatoon (married October 1, 1956), he opened a law practice in 1967 and they raised their family. Dean was sadly predeceased by two daughters Domini Suzanne & Leslie Michelle. Dean is survived by Jacqueline, children Andrea (David), David, Robert, Jodi (Gerald), 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, several cousins. Dean’s life will be celebrated by friends and family on Saturday, March 5th from 1:00 until the cognac runs dry at 33562 Clayburn Rd., Abbotsford, BC prior to one last road trip to Brandon, Manitoba with Lazarus MacSporran.
