John Arthur

Aug. 9, 1915 - Sept. 29, 2006

John is survived by Viola, wife of 64 years, and four daughters Karen (Ian), Janet (Jim), Dawne, Laura (Steve); and 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, sisters Marg McCaffrey and Edie Perry. He lived in Mission for over 65 years, was proprietor of Mission Meats, and a member of the Mission Legion for 60 years. John was a good family man. Special memories include Dad twirling around the dance floor with mom, the piggy back rides in the rain, Bugs Bunny bedtime stories, corn roasts and learning to swim at Everglades, bonfires at Halloween, fishing lessons for daughters and grandchildren, sleigh rides on Fell's hill and master carving of the turkey at family dinners. Dad shared his time with us, Sunday visits to Janet and Jim's farm, Saturday morning coffee and muffins at Laura and Steve's, holidays at Missezulla Lake with Karen and Ian, Dawne's Sunday dinners at home. Dad was a voracious reader and enjoyed discussions on any subject. At 91 years he was still taking a daily walk. His motto was "never stop trying". Everything we ever learned of any value, we learned from our Dad and Mom. Dad's favorite saying from the porch of our family home was "this is the most beautiful place in the world."

You have gone with the angels Dad, and we will miss you so.

Special thanks to Dr, Mitchinson, the staff at Mission Memorial Hospital and especially the loving care of his home support workers.

No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fraser Home Society, 33064 4th Ave., Mission, B.C. V2V 1S5. This would be a wonderful way to celebrate Dad's life.
