Mr. Johann (John) Penner age 85 years, passed away in peace surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 6, 2003 in Abbotsford, B.C.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by Gertrude, his loving wife of 56 years, his children; Curtis Penner, Steve (Colleen)Penner, Rita (Vern) Pankratz, Myra (Albert) Dykstra, Dan (Laurel) Penner, Simon deBoer, and Alison Draney (Rob Hambly); 18 grandchildren; Kim (Duane) Vader, Heide Penner, Brad (Charity) Penner, Shelly Penner, Cori Penner (Sam Leighton), Jonathan Penner, Andrea Penner, Anthony Pankratz, Justin Pankratz, Christopher Pankratz, Julie (Brent)Wasson, Amy (Rick) Kohut, Nicholas Dykstra, Liam Penner, Shaymus Penner, Timothy deBoer, Colby Draney, and Colin Draney; 2 great grandchildren; R. Ward Vader, Levi Vader.
John was predeceased by his brothers Dick Penner, Jacob Penner, Jake Driedger, Abe Penner and sisters Anna Neufeld and Helena Brown.
John lived his life to the fullest and was best known for his custom made fishing rods, and his ability to conquer many obstacles.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Menno Home Hospital for their compassionate care.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Valley Mennonite Church in Mission.
