FRASER, Joan Elliott

March 18, 1933 - January 29, 2008

Joan passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer on January 29th at the Mission Memorial Hospital. she maintained her dignity, grace and sense of humor right up until the end. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Joan traveled west to Vancouver in the 1950's after graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Physiotherapy. It was in Vancouver that she met and married Jim Fraser. Joan was a recreational sailor and artist, owner of several cherished boxers, an avid reader, and proud home owner. And she was always a loving, generous and exceptional mother & friend. Predeceased by brother William Elliott of Toronto, Ontario, she is survived by her two sons, Jay Fraser (Hallie) of Maple Ridge, B.C. and Bruce Fraser (Sharon Fisher) of North Vancouver, B.C., beloved granddaughter Tori Fraser, twin sister Margaret Kennedy of Huntsville, Ontario and a host of good friends and great memories. We will love you and remember you always, Mom.

In lieu of flowers or cards, we ask that you please make generous donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (BC & Yukon Division), or the Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission Memorial Hospital. A celebration of Joan's life is planned in the near future. Please contact Bruce at 604-986-2506.
