Jesse Unger

March 3, 1991 ~ April 30, 2017

We had the gift of Jesse for 26 years. Anyone could tell he was special upon first meeting him, but only once you got to know him, did you realize just how special he was. He was dearly loved by his parents, Steve and Carol, his brothers and sisters-in-love, Brad and Gen, Nathan and Emily, his nephew Koleton and niece Jordyn. His Auntie Ruth held a special place in his heart. Grandparents, John and Frieda Sawatzky, and Helen Unger, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends were part of his support network. Life was never boring with Jesse, and each person who knew him had their own “Jesse” stories. He was a lover of books, musical cards, lighthouses, shredding papers at his jobs, ‘Simpson’ quotes…. Life was always “excellent”. He was rarely seen without his strings and stuffed ‘ming ming’. He taught us much; about unconditional love; the joy of laughter, even as cancer was destroying his body. He loved Jesus, and we celebrate that he is now with Him, free from pain and suffering. Thank you to all the medical people who helped care for him this past year. We want to celebrate his life on Sunday, May 7, at 6:30 pm at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church (32860 Cherry Ave). For those wishing to make a donation in his memory, there will be opportunity to give to Seeds of Hope, for their building and furnishing of their home for special needs kids in Zambia.
